Leavers 2017 Special Books

We hope all the children have had an amazing day at their new school’s and that they had a fantastic summer.

At the end of last year some special books and sketch books got forgotten. If your child did not receive their special book or sketch book please feel free to pop in and (collect it before or after school) from Mrs Holmes by 9th September.

Please email tina.holmes@stmartins.sch.gg if you would like it passed onto a younger sibling.

Leavers’ Performance

Dear parents,

We have had a lot of parents asking for extra tickets. We have therefore decided to offer one extra ticket to each family FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE SHOW. There is no space at all for the first half as the children sit in the audience too. Please ensure you bring your two tickets with you.

If you would like a 3rd ticket, please ask your guest to come to school for approx. 8pm to watch the children’s performance.

Many thanks

Year 6 team

Year 6 Update

The children are working very hard on their Leavers’ performance- we are very proud of them! Please make sure you collect your free tickets from the office. Just a reminder that it is only 2 tickets per child- no young children are permitted.

Tomorrow, we would like all of the children to be at school by 6.30pm in their smartest school uniform ready for the formal part of the evening. All of their outfits/costumes should now be left at school ready for the second part of the evening.

Please could your child bring a cloth bag to school  if they have any costume changes- these are far quieter back stage than plastic bags.

Finally, please could any report slips be returned as soon as possible.

Many thanks,

Year 6 team

Year 6 Update

We are hoping everyone has now recovered from camp and is now ready for the last 3 and half days of year 6!

Please could all children bring in their costumes tomorrow in a cloth bag- most of them had these ready the Friday before camp.

Leavers’ tickets can be collected from reception- 2 per family. We are very sorry but we have to be very strict about this as numbers are incredibly tight.

Please could as many ‘synchronised swimmers’ as possible stay after school until 4.30pm tomorrow.

On Thursday morning, year 6 are invited to wear mufti and to bring in yellow school shirts or autograph books to be signed. If you ordered a Leavers’ hoody, they are ready to be collected.

Many thanks,

The Year 6 team

Update 9/7/18

Does anyone have a gazebo we could borrow for camp?

We would like to create some more shade in our field but B and Q and Aladdin’s Cave have sold out of gazebo’s.

If you have one we could borrow for the week please email tina.holmes@stmartins.sch.gg or bring it to school in the morning.

Get plenty of sleep tonight children as we have an action packed and fun week planned.

See you in the morning.

Many Thanks

Dear parents,

Can you believe the last 2 weeks of term are here? For year 6 it is an incredibly busy time so apologies for the number of blogs but here are a few more reminders-

Next Tuesday we all head off to camp until the Friday afternoon. The children are very excited- many of them tell us they have already started packing!  Below is the key list of items to pack and the whole summer camp booklet (just in case the original has been misplaced). Children should come to school as normal but wearing mufti suitable for camp.

Leavers’ Service

The Leavers’ Service is on Wednesday 18th July at 7pm. Tickets are free and can be collected from Friday 13th July- 2 tickets per family, no pre-schoolers or children are permitted to attend.

The children have thrown themselves into rehearsals this week and things are coming together well. We have asked all of the children to get their costumes ready and to bring them into school on Monday in a cloth bag (no plastic bags please as these are very noisy back stage). Children have opted for a range of parts and have been given suggestions for costumes. Absolutely no money needs to be spent on these. Please could we ask that every item of clothing is named, particularly their yellow school shirts. We have suggested that if your child has multiple costumes, they place each one inside a smaller bag within their cloth bag so they can easily find things.

Year 6 Photo Booth

The PTA did a wonderful job this afternoon taking some lovely photos of year 6. These photos will be on sale on Monday before and after school. Please pop in and have a look so that you can place an order- each photo is 50p.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information. Thank-you for your continued support.
